HR Council in Transition

In search of a home

June 21, 2012

Many in the sector are only too aware that the deadline for the HR Council to resolve its funding issues is fast approaching. Board and staff continue to work diligently to find partners and solutions for support. We are pleased to report that we have confirmed support for the HR Council mandate from many quarters in the sector and serious discussions about financial assistance are underway.

In the meantime, energy and passion for the HR Council’s work remain high among staff and board members. Both have clear work plans around development and timelines. It is important to note that the September 2012 board meeting is our deadline to make a final decision about our future. We are optimistic that we can obtain what we need to go forward and are confident and focused that we are doing everything possible to carry out our governance role and due diligence in the present circumstances.

Some thought has been given to winding down the organization should targets not be met and the HR Council is strongly committed to:

  • Addressing all legal issues
  • Ensuring that management of our own human resources is outstanding
  • Ensuring a legacy of the HR Council assets should wind down occur

Those who refer to the HR Council site and who depend on the organization’s many resources are reminded that work at the HR Council is ongoing and that projects as well as the many tools, templates and reports that we make available to the sector continue to be updated on our website. As has been the case over the past few months, information and updates will be posted as they become available.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
