Leaves - time off to vote
The Election Act require that employers give employees time off if they would otherwise not have time to vote. In most jurisdictions, employees must have 3 consecutive hours away from work while the polls are open. Exceptions: 2 hours in Nunavut; 1 hour in PEI; 4 hours in BC and Quebec. Note: These requirements could change. Be sure that your policy complies with current laws in your province or territory.
